Tolman was given a two episode guest role as romance novelist Abby Berman on The Mindy Program the same year. In 2015 she played the role of a support of Michael Dougherty s comedy horror movie Krampus. Tolman, who had the most acclaimed part in Fargo, declined supporting roles as mothers, wives and best friends in order to take on the role she thought was distinct. In 2017, Tolman starred in ABC's Downward Dog, based on the Animal Media Group web series, It was canceled after a single season. Tolman was a part of ABC's Emergence drama, which debuted on 24 September 2019 but was pulled by ABC following one year of airing at the 21st of May in 2020 despite Tolman tweeting she thought the ratings were "pretty acceptable".
